Dear Ma
Boet and me are having the best time here. When Skoffel told us about the camp we thought it was not going to be too lekker but you know what, now that we are here we are really glad we came. It feels like we are in the Roman army, like in the movies where you see thousands and thousands of men together ready to fight a battle. Some men are here to fight with the organisers, some to fight with other men camping next to them but you know what: I think I am here to fight a battle with myself. Ma,... ... I miss God. These guys here, they don't even try to convince us; but Ma, someone is stirring stuff in me... stirring stuff in all the men here... ...
Anyways, before I get all soft and stuff - I should tell you about the showers and water and stuff. You won't believe, there are over two thousand showers and you run through them! It reminds me of that time when all the boys from the koshuis ran kaalbas through the sproeiers on the field in the middel of the winter with sokkies and dasse. We don't have to wear sokkies or dasse here and there are also no onnies waiting for us at the end of the field. I am really glad about that because I was so scared of those big ladies with the swepe checking our tickets.Next time I will tell you about all the lekker kos we prepared. We decided to eat everything cold and raw because there was a problem when we made a fire to braai - the lighter fluid we wanted to use to light the wood was leaky and so Skoffel perongeluk spilled lighter fluid on our tent. We weren't actually allowed to make open fires. No one would have noticed but when our tent caught fire it looked like the time when oom Spike showed us that magic trick when he crouches at the fire. So the people next to us sprayed the tent with the brandblussers and we were not even on fire but one guy sommer emptied a whole bucket of water on us - three times! Boet is digging for water now so I have to go and help him.
Your loving son,
